If your looking for a boss type of unit thats not too strong and not too weak use a Gnoll. The Stronger Bosses would be like a dragon, a Battle Golem or maybe even a high class Bandit. But I think every one agrees with me when i say with the exceptions of murlocs Gnolls are easiest.

Eh, i'd pick the gnolls or rock golems. You can just make them weaker if you think they're too powerful.
