wow was every fun at the first, when u started off in that human town, exploring and going to deadmines haha, the story line was good too as quests moved u alone, but after getting to STV the storyline just kinda lost itself. stopped at level 49 =)

Hey WotLK wasn't as bad as I thought, I played at my friends and they included many, many characters and significances they had in the books and lore! But wait, It hardly corresponded? What do you think? Visuals were great, quests were.. yeah, engineers with motorcycles, flying carpets? Hmmm?

I'd say it's still the same :) It's just hidden itself behind a wall of snow.
I coughed up the cash, just as I did from 60-70, for one game-card to get a hold of the new content. I just had to test Death knight.

After completing outlands once more I found myself once again upon several chainquests, quickly adding XP and containing lines just as the old ones:

-Escort <person> to <location>
-Kill X <monsters>
-Collect X <objects>

But then I reached like, what was it? like 75-76 and I notice that one chain had been going on for a loong time, yatta yatta yatta, and it ended up in an assault on undercity, now that was a cool quest, except for the fact you were invulnearable.

Then there was the Wrath Gate quest, very cool aswell. And that thing in Icecrown Glacier with the Argent Crusade.

These three lines what was keept me going, hoping for more of such content But sadly I reached 80, still looking for my 'fix' of in-your-face half linear gameplay. But there was no more, and thene there was only dailies heroics and raids, my game-card expired, my account froze and so it remains.

Well, I think the only true problem with WoW is the need to pay.
I think they would have a lot more people playing if they would lower subscribtions, or eleminate them.

Yeah, but then they wouldn't make as much money, they would probably just loose money.

Not with the advertising they would get, after the sudden increase in members.
They might actually make more money by doing it that way, I think.

How? TBC+WOTLK Costs like 30 USD. Imagine all the expenses Blizzard got. Servers, payment for GMs, devolopers and so on. Blizzard is a company, they want to make as much money as possible, and the best way is probably to add a fee to the game.

They could still charge for keys, and I know several people (who are good at this stuff, and you can trust), who would be GMs for free.

If they were to make it free, they would easily get another 2 or 3 million players, which would make more companies want to advertise with them.

More players = More advertising = More money = Everyone happy

But, in the end, it's Blizzards decision.
Eventually, the game will become free, there is no doubt about that (Either a WoW 2 comes out, or the game dies (its going to happen sometime. Its just a matter of when))

If they removed subscriptions, how the hell do they make those active updates anymore? They got to earn money to continue the game else it's pointless.

Lowering subscription means less income for them, who would like want that if you are the person getting the salary?

Personally I hate WOW for it's first 1-30 levels which is really ahh... boring due to the fact that I always get lost and PVP is so tough and the understanding of the game is weak.

I still think they will earn shitloads of more money by adding a fee and making 11000000 people pay for the game.

But neither you or me are any ybermensch ecomonist that can proof to one another that Blizzard will make more money doing X rather than Y so, no point arguing about it really.

What makes you think that people would want to advertise WOW? It already has a huge advertisement, I see them almost all the time.

World of Warcraft has several MILLLION users.
A lot of companys would LOVE to have a market like that.
Add a small advert in the start screen, and the launcher, and they'll make more than they do now.

I'm not saying they should. I'm just saying they could make more money doing this, and gain a larger fanbase.

Let's say they do this, and each person new buys the game, and both xpacs. I'd say that's about $90. Let's say an amazing 5 million more join! 450 million bucks oh boy..... That's a one-time fee. Or they could continue making a billion + every year, on top of the other sales. And, let's be honest, there wouldn't be 5 million new customers if they dropped the subscription, or if there was, it would be over quite a few years (decade?).

Wrong. If they would make more money that way, they would be doing it that way. ;)

Trust me, in a company such as Blizzard, they are doing the most profitable thing possible to make as much money as possible.

Yes. But a profit isn't their primary concern right now. Keeping players is, and neither is it their focus because of StarCraft II. Honestly last thing they should be doing is trying to risk players when they know they'll get major boosts when the other games release.
