Wtf is going on?

Uhh, my rep is dropping with out any -rep... it went down 41 points somehow..

I've witnesses instances when thehelper bumps or reduces rep as he sees fit. I myself got a 100 rep increase when he made notice of one of my terraining tutorials and a project i had been working on... If thats not the case, the only other alternative i can think of would be that you lost moderator status..

I did not adjust it down but any Administrator can modify rep.

It starts decaying only after a while.

As rep can't come from "nowhere", I guess the admins have to take it from one member in order to give it to someone else. As you got +5, we now have to figure out, where the other 36 from MeRcChRiS went.

In the end, it's only a number. You could always try to ask people to "pay first" (by giving you rep), before you answer their questions.

You obviously didn't understand my ploy.. Im certain the admins/mods wont answer my question, but Merc may be lured into telling his side of the story, and if the admin's don't think the situation was represented accurately they'll further explain... of coarse this accomplishes almost nothing, but it'd be nice to understand what is going on.
