Yes. Well it's kind of necessary now because at some point, around that age, they will figure some... things out, and find certain websites and not know what's going on.

And I don't think the age of consent is usually brought up as too big of a deal if both sides consent. I know several people who were sixteen when they got pregnant by people over 18, and I'm fairly certain that since they all are raising their kids none of them are being charged with statutory rape or child molestation.

Although... how do they define the difference? I watched that stupid To Catch A Predatory show a few times and they were always being charged with attempted child molestation or something right? Since the girl was supposed to be willing wouldn't it just be statutory rape?

Same thing with that addiction show and To Catch a Predator. I think some of these really pornographic in nature (not the sexual kind that you watch when you're bored and/or lonely and hide in the Windows folder so your parents or supposed girlfriend don't find it). I mean, I see absolutely no entertainment value in any of these shows and I don't think that anyone who was in a situation like that does either. It's just an obscenity for people to watch so that they can look down on someone else, and tell themselves that those people are the scum of the world, and you know that most of the people that do watch those are thinking that (and then turn on something like that show where they build some poor family a giant house they can't afford nor deserve and think "oh those poor people.")

I mean, I know several people that had children when they were sixteen and the dad was 18, 19, one of them was 22 and actually I think that one is a little weird, but despite that they're all living quite happy lives, working through college and raising their kids as best they can (which I found surprisingly better than a lot of people who have kids when they're older).

Of course, I'm not advocating that sixteen should be the age of consent, I still think it should be 18 or when they have at the very least graduated high school (although it should be noted though, that I think the Junior year should be dropped and replaced with a year of work, an internship, military, peace corp service, something like that), whichever is first, for the reason that all of the people I know that did have a child before graduation dropped out and subsequently had to get a GED and assuredly it was a major disturbance on their life (not being able to immediately go to college, not being able to afford to take the classes they wanted to which in effect makes the time they're in college longer, ect).

Let's think about it for a moment. Those of you that are 16, 17 whatever that are like "I think the age of consent should be like 13 or 14 because they'll have sex anyway and something something something something Varine isn't paying attention anymore because 13 year old having sex is stupid." Can you, right now, take financially, mentally, and physically, raise a child? And when you, you little 14 or 16 year old munchkin you, are 28-36 and your child is now the same age as you were when you had said child. Are you ready to be a grandparent? I mean you were the one that wanted the age of consent that low, meaning that you think that it's okay for people that young to have children, do you want to be called a grandparent at age 36? Well I guess that would be 18 so fine by my standards, but let's say you were 16 and therefore 32 and a grandparent. I seriously doubt that you would, especially if you have a daughter (I'm not going to buy that you won't be pissed if you find out your 15 or 16 year old daughter is having sex with some boy). I seriously doubt it, and I know a lot of you are underage, and seriously doubt that in reality (might think you are) you are capable of taking care of a child. Even if mentally and physically you can, financially I doubt it, maybe, but not so good. I barely live on 15 dollars an hour in a cheap apartment by myself, I mean it's fine money for me and I can afford to do some of my projects but I don't get most of the stuff I want, I have to save and plan and stuff. There is no way I would be able to take care of three people, since the mom shouldn't be working at least for a couple months to take care of baby.

There are better ways of releasing sexual tension such as physical exercise and/or masturbation. I would advise against the latter though. Masturbation damages your reproduction organs if done excessively. Also, this act may lead to stronger cravings more frequently. Self discipline is the key.

As for the article, what point are you trying to support? It just talks about teens who took abstinence pledges and some random data. I like the conclusion though:

Humans are like dogs

A male can start mating roughly a year after birth, give or take a few months. A female it takes at least 2 years.

Similar with humans, Guys would likely be fully read around maybe age 14, bit after puberty kicks im, 15 I would think is the common age people normally first have sexy nowadays. Females is a different story. Sex sure, but the problem isn't just rapists, or any of that. Its pregnancy, guys are dumb, they won't always use protection, and lot of woman won't because there arrogant, 2/3 of teenagers will say "oh it won't happen" kind of thinking. And that part is very true.

At this young of age, 12-16 are quite irresponsible, including if you throw in these kinds of things, not only are they not really mature in personality and such, pregnancy is a lot harder on younger girls, and guys that age won't be responsible (For the most part, theres exceptions to everything). Thing is, teens that young are just stupid if you want to put it blunt, more than 2/3 won't be careful about it, or think of any consequences. Guys for one are just rather dumb at this age, they are just coming into puberty, and don't know what to think, or how to set control (If you know what I mean).

If you take pregnancy out of the picture, then I don't think this would be that much of a big deal, it doesn't matter how careful you are, it can happen, and it can[i/] drastically effect both youth's teen years, More of a negative effect kind of way. Because like I said before teens are stupid, including young teens, they don't know what to do, take dumb risks, very poor judgement, which can affect there lives in a negative way.

Now some of what I said is fact, some is my personal opinion. to each its own, which basically means you have your opinion, and I have mine. (The meaning can vary, such as how people do things, and or opinions.)

Now, setting personal opinion aside..

Nature didn't design humans to be capable of having sex early for there to be laws, we are like dogs, once we get to a certain age, our abilities arise.
