vBulletin Help needed!

Hey, i just bought a license for a vbulletin forum, since im setting one up for my community clan, and i was wondering about a few things, that i cant get to work.

On this forum, when someone posts the user bar, where your name, your avatar, your title, reputation etc is displayed vertical, where on my forum default is horizontal, how do i change it? have looked everywhere on the control panel.

Secondly, How do i change the colors, and the header image? like here it is "TheHelper.net" with a picture of a computer, and i want my own image there too, how?

Third, Am i allowed to take some of the names from here and use? and with names i mean like category names, i like the ones here, they are kind of un-original and default, but i like them, like the "Creativity Zone" and stuff like that, is it wrong to use some of those names? am i allowed to, or is it just plain wrong?

Fourth, Im trying to create a good reputation + posts system, like you actually have on this site, i like the irony about the user titles from the posts, and the text when you mouseover the reputation.

Where can i get some help to come up with such text? :)

Fifth, is there an opportunity, to make a specific user's name appear as a different color? like so if i was an administrator my name wouldnt be default coloured (blue) but like, Red, green or something?

ive seen it on alot of free forums, but not this one, is it possible? and how? :)

Thanks alot in advance!

1. That is something not to be attempted by the faint of heart. :p
There are two ways you can work that one:
A. Download a vBulletin style and install it (you can get styles in a variety of places - start with Google)
B. Take the time to learn how to customize styles yourself using the Style Manager and edit the HTML/PHP hybrid in the templates to do what you wish.

2. Colors and the banner go with the style manager as well. The banner can be found under ImagePaths in the StyleVars area of the Style Manager.

3. I don't think anyone is going to hunt you down and shoot you or anything.

4. I really don't know where TH came up with those little pieces of text - they just take some creativity.

5. You can do it for a specific usergroup. In the usergroup manager, there is a field for Usergroup HTML Markup. You can use that to add a simple color tag or so.

Thank you very much!

I have few questions regarding your answers :)

4. I know its just amazing creativity, but its like, ive been trying and i never come up with something like this- this is awesome you know, there is this little piece of irony in every text you have on TH.

5. Yeah it works, all though it dosnt show the color on the "Last Post Column" and neither in "Author" is that possible to color the username aswell? right now the username is only colored when you enter the users profile, look at the member list, OR go INSIDE one of his/her posts.

Edit: i have now searched trough google and all i can find is styles that change the color of the forum not the way the bar up there^ at my username changes position. Is there a simple way of telling me how to in the admin panel?
EDIT2: I found it out! Style & Language settings - Use vertical/horizontal userbar :) !

Again thank you for the answers!

That may involve a bit of modification of the function which lists the threads.

Oh, do you know how to do it? i mean, is there any exact way to explain what to modify in there? so that i can do it myself?

Thanks!

I'm not sure on the vBulletin API, so I wouldn't know I'm afraid.

Ok, i got all i needed now, thanks for the replies!

1 last thing, i have a problem with the header on my forum, when i place the header, it fits on normal monitors, but widescreen makes it not fit, and gives a blue default square at the right side.

How do i make it auto-fit at any resolution? anyone knows?

You would have to use CSS.
