Adding language or character to a phone

I bought my Sony Ericsson T707 cellphone in Hong Kong. It has the languages English and Chinese. Since I live in Sweden, it's causing some problems when I'm texting my friends and not being able to type the characters å, ä and ö.

So my question is, is there a way to add a language to your phone?
If that's not possible, I'd be grateful if I could just type the letters åäö, since I don't use Quick Text/T9 anyway.

possibly if you took it to a local sony place, otherwise no - it's not a smartphone so your options are pretty limited, sorry
