I applied for a job online at about 8:30-8:45 ish tonight.

At 9:15 i recieved an email saying I wasn't accepted. Even though the due date for the application was august 1. (there are many gripes here but I will stick with the technical one)

How can I find out if an email address is an automated response or the real deal.

Would simply replying to it be sufficient?

Either way I am going to burn some balls tomorrow, it was a written very poorly.

P.S Before anyone asks what their businees hours are, they have 24/7 support, but surely that doesn't mean their HR department works that late either.

Lets all spam their email and register them for a bunch of popups.

Automated Responses are usually formal looking with no spelling errors. Your e-mail might of come from a hacker or some employee's joke. I suggest trying again and waiting.

Edit: Going on what hobo just said, auto responces also say do not reply tot his e-mail.

My suspicion is that it is automated, and it is passed off for a 'real' email.

Here are my reasons:

It took less than 30 minutes for a reply to come to me saying I was unsuccessful, when the date for applicatons is August 1.

The response came at 9:15 pm. When despite 24 customer service, surely Human Resource departments don't work at that time.

It was signed "The **** Recruitment Team". Not by anyone in particular.

The email address was "Careers_System@****.com.au
