I dont know much about hardware so i dont know what to think about when buying RAM and CPUs. I know that with the CPU i have to match my 755 socket and with the RAM the highest cap on my motherboard is 4x1 Gb and that it needs to match the sockets there too, except i just dont know how to check that in beforehand.

I have my eyes on

What numbers and stuff has to match in order for my PC to handle those? I have the program System Information for Windows so all info is available, i just dont know whats relevant.

what windows says will be what your current system is, not what it can support - you should try and find what motherboard you have

for the CPU and lga 775 cpu would work if that's what you currently have, so the one you picked would work

for the memory it should say the speed as well, if you buy faster ram then the system supports, it will just downclock the ram to match what the system does support
