Changing Text Colour

Ok, if you know how to do this and it works for you, no need to read this, but if it doesn't, or you don't, read on!

Ok, the Blizzard Map FAQ thread (click here ) is mistaken about how to do colours in text.
Then again, it might just be my world editor, but i doubt it...

It tells you to type |c, then your colour code, then 00, then your text, then |r

This doesn't work (at least for me). The 00 and the colour code are in the wrong places.

It should be like this:
|c 00 [colour code] [text] |r only with no spaces.

A great site for colour codes can be found here

Hope I helped someone...

Thank you for your contribution.

I have now added a link to a colour program in the faq. This program does all the code generation for you.

oops, now that I read your post in greater detail, I have to unfortunately correct you. I believe that that faq is wrong as well.

This is the format:

|cAARRGGBBText|r

A = Alpha (transparency) <= not 100% sure on this one
R = Red
G = Green
B = Blue

For example, the code for the standard yellow/gold you see often in the unit editor is:

|cffffcc00Text|r

So here AA = ff, RR = ff, GG = cc, and BB = 00.

A standard grey colour is:

|c00c0c0c0Text|r

Argh, then it's just me it doesn't work for!

Damn! My Wacraft III is always playing up!
Thanx also for that brilliant program, Darg, that'll make things a helluva lot easier!...

haha! I WAS RIGHT (first and last time for everything)

I used the program Darg, and it does colours my way, with the 00 before the colour code...

Oh, and a question. If I want a unit to NOT play a certain animation, do i have to tell it to just play the others, or is there a way of getting rid of just one?

God I'm making a fool of myself here...

Ok, so i red your post more carefully, and you were just agreeing with me (basically)...

I gotta think more carefully before i post...

Sorry there is no way to remove animations.

If the unit has an animation that is -1 through -4 (like stand), you can tell it to play its common or rare animations. Common is 1, and rare is 2 to 4.

That's all you can do I'm afraid.
