Custom hero help

I want to know how to make a map where the players choose a hero and then choose some abilities they can level up like normal afterwards when they gain a level.

Make something like a Tavern from melee gaming for people to purchase their heroes.

I know how to make a tavern and get them to buy heroes, but how do make it so that they can pick abilities and level them up like in "custom hero footies"?

You can make a market place selling the skills and then Trigger it

A Unit acquires a item
Item type of acquired item equal to "ITEM_SKILL"
Actions
Remove ITEM_SKILL from hero
add ability ITEM_SKILL to buying unit
