Detect Tileset

is it possible to detect the type of tileset without regions.

That is using regions.... "Playable map area" is a default region that covers the whole map.

True. I think the OP needs to elaborate a little more..

I think the OP simply meant without the use of the regions that you create manually, my guess is that they're trying to create ground that kills you without having to place regions everywhere.
