WIP First Person Shooter Project

[U are a noob]

Me and xxxtrickyxxx have embarked on a attempt of turning Wc3 into a first person shooter. We realize that you cannot use the mouse to aim but we are treating the arrow keys as a joystick for the aiming.
Updates:

What we've accomplished:

• Fully functional movement system
• Shooting System

Plans:

• Moving the shooting cursor up and down
• Multiple height levels in the map
• Bombers

Why do my posts keep disappearing? ... this is the 3rd thread that my posts have disappeared from. I posted yesterday on this thread...

Anyway, this looks cool. But how's it going to work with online multiplayer? Is it lag free? And please make sure it's not choppy; so many of the FPS/FPS-types in Warcraft that fail just because it is so choppy. Can you aim vertically, too?

It isn't hard to make a system like this work on single player.
It's much harder (probably impossible) to create a system that works online without lag.

But in a sense its not the type of aiming system your looking for. Talk to undead about it though, he's around these forums a lot.

House of the Dead is a controlled enviroment FPS. Actually, it's more like an arcade game, lol. It's still fun, but it's a different type... "IMHO".

This is a FPS, like a real console game type. It's freestyle enviroment and shooting.

Works in multilayer. So far test with LC on bnet is lag free.

Hes is not a FPS system it is more a click-select system. Notice that it only shoots when you click on units.
