GIMP troubles

I've tried to open GIMP today, but it won't finish starting up. Keeps getting stuck on 'Looking for Data Files : Templates'. I tried reinstalling it, but no luck so far. Anyone got a clue to whats going on?

EDIT: If this is supposed to be in the tech help thread, could someone please move it. I have just seen other gimp questions here before, and thought that it would be the best place to find someone who knows about the issue.

Hmm, how long did you wait before canceling/shutting down the program?

Gimp needs some time to load, I run Vista 64Bit with 4GB Ram and Gimp still does need some seconds to start/load all the files.

Try leaving it loading overnight and see what comes up.

If that doesn't work I'd recommend downloading an installer.

Thanks for trying to help guys, but I did some rummaging through the internet last night looking for similar problems and a common one was that people got the loading stuck similar to me, but on fonts and not templates. A remedy for that was to delete the font cache in C:\Documents and Settings\username\.gimp-2.4, so I did similar and deleted the templates cache.. now it loads fine so it seems to have fixed itself.
