Help with microphone related topic

what would you call it when you want to instead of talking threw a mic play music on your PC directly, i use to have this happen to me by mistake all the time, and i fergot how to controll it.... if some one could please remind me or tell me a good way please tell me.. i need it for a friends radio show lol.

example, you use skype to call a phone, i know there is pamela, but that program sucks etc etc.

sorry, i know i sound like a newb right now, but every guy has his moments lol. i really don't know to much about directly transmitting what im listnin to and make it what i am projecting threw a invisible mic....

If you don' t have sound icon in system tray you can access to these options from:
Start > Control Panel > Sound, Speech and Audio Devices > Adjust the System Volume > Voice > Voice Recording > Volume

Select from 'Volume' Stereo Mixer and 'Mic'. Basically you enable from Mic and Stereo Mixer sound input at same time. It means it will mix both sounds (All sounds like program alerts and OS sounds will be mixed too).

You didn' t mention what operating system do you use (or your friend)?
