Hero Defense Ideas

So my problem is, I start a map, get about 20-50% through it. Get bored and start a new project. But I'm sick of it :)

I've started a new map. It's going to be a basic Hero Defense map with a 'morning star' kind of shape

The star being a cross road (aka burnt to the ground town :)) And the 'I's and '-' Being creep paths.

The goal is, to keep all those angry creeps away from your king / leader fellow who is safely nestled away in the good ol' impenetrable base.

Now, My issue is (issue number 2), I'm not sure what all you Gamer folk like in a Hero defense, So i'm here to ask you :)

Also, I'd like to know things like..
How many heroes would you expect to be able to choose from?
How many waves of creeps would you expect?
Do Bosses float your boat?
What is the max level of your heroes to be?
What happens with leveling after you've already learned all your abilities?
Would you like a decent level of story telling behind the game?
etc..

Hello,

I personally like Hero Defense maps , i am currently working on one with RangerX

What i like at hero defense:
Lots , Lots of items
Much heroes
Lots of creep waves....about 40-50 after that you will have to fight the bosses to win
Triggered , leakless , cool spells...
At Bosses...Arthas , Azagalor , donno...Fell Hound , Crystal Golem
Max level about 100-120
When you learn all ability you will get some kind of bonus skill wich will be kind of Blink spell with 700-800 range
Story behind the game ... i don't really like the ideea.
Some Jokes that are told with Game - Display trigger
Like at min 5-10 the game is paused , cinematic triggerd and camera panned to right upper size of the map where there is a wolf in front of a villager and the villager gets killed/revived/killed/revived few times... xD like kill and after 0,2 sec revive...and it will get a cool animation... xD
Those were all my ideeas :)

Thanks guys, +rep to both of ya.
I think i've decided on 50 levels, but i was curious, instead of getting an entirely new spell when you hit level 40 (all abilities max level), you get points to spend on ability modifiers (useful really only with triggered spells).

The theory behind it is You have your basic insta-cast 350 aoe fireburny spell kinda thing. With the spell modifiers, you can choose in like a tree of different things, like +aoe range, +damage or like Adds a stun to the units directly affected by the aoe.

Wadd'ya reckon, Yes or no?
