Hero experience

Hello. I need help.

I need to set heroes experience needed per level. I know it in gameplay constants but there is a lot of option and I don't know what does mean what. I would like to decrease experience needed for 2nd level and then it should increase only by little. I somehow managed it to decrease it from level 3+ but it would be nice if I understand what does exactly what.

Also I would like some limit for experience gained. I don't want to get 2 or more instant levels by defeating very high level hero.

http://www.thehelper.net/threads/gameplay-constants-hero-experience.58425/ explains the gameplay constants values. As far as I know all you can do via triggers is change experience gain by a percentage, and add/set current experience.
