Hero status bar in hots - with shields?

Is there a way to make the custom unit status frame (the one that displays the name, health and energy for the hero in HotS campaign), work for shield aswell? Currently it does only display life and energy, and if the unit has shield, it will display as if the shield is missing life?

it would also work fine for me, if it would just be the normal status bar, but I want the unit name above the unit.

Are you talking about the Status bar that is up in the top left hand corner or the one that hovers over the unit?

The one that hovers above the unit. I already found the field, in the actor of the unit, and made it work, but it does not display shield.

The Status bars use UI Layout frames which can be viewed in the UI Module. The path that you enter into Combat: Custom Unit Status Frame property on the actor is actually the path for the UI Layout frame you wish to use. Knowing this makes it rather easy to create your own unit status frames.

When creating components for your custom status frame, the value entered in the type parameter links to inside the game code such that it get filled out correctly (i.e health get displayed in that component). Unfortunately there is no "Shield Only" frame type which means you cannot create a bar which only shows Shields (only the crappy health/shield combination).

That said, you can create a custom frame which only shows the units name, and still have to the standard status bar shown which will give you the result you are after. Go into the UI Module, create a new layout and call it CustomHeroStatus. Then copy and paste the following code into your new layout:

Now in your actor for your unit, set the Combat: Custom Unit Status Frame property to CustomHeroStatus/HeroUnitStatusFrameNameOnly. I haven't adjusted the anchor values to get the name label in the optimal position as I thought I would let you sort that out. If your having multiple heros, you may want to create mutiple frames for different anchor positions so it looks good for each hero.

Sad that I did not come back to this earlier today :b I figured this out last night before I went to bed, but the problem now is that I cant display a shield bar?

There doesnt seem to be an option to display the shield bar?

Nope there doesn't seem to be a way. The code I posted creates a custom status bar that only displays the units name. It doesn't show the unit's life, shields or energy. To show these features, don't hide the units normal status bar. So you should have two status bars displayed, the normal one every unit uses, and a custom one which just displays the units name.

Yeah, well this works, but the two different bars, does not display the same way. So if I scroll the bars collide /:
