ideas for shield spell

Hi

I'd like to create a shield spell: the way I imagine it, is comparable to the shield generators of supreme commander: all the units within the shield can fire out, but incoming shots are blocked by the shield. Ideas how to realize that?

if ur talking about the actual projectiles i dont think u can detect them. i suggest makeing a "dummy" (no locust, infinate hp) around ur "shield" and then when a unit is attacked and the unit is a unit in the shield, order the attacker to attack the closest "dummy".

What about detecting orders issued to units / points inside the shield and cancelling them (like anti-ff triggers). Wouldnt that produce a similar effect?

that is exactly what i said, except i also added an order to attack the shield to replace it

I really like that concept of the attacks being attracted to a dummy.
