Importing this modell..

hello!
i have downloaded this modell http://hiveworkshop.com/resources_new/models/2759/
but cant get it to work. could someone download it and import it to a map and then post a screen or something so I know how to make it work. thanks in advance.

I guess you did not set the .blp path correctly.

i have read it but I still dont understand this:
its 2 files one mdx and one blp. but on the website it says that there should be like 5 files(?)
units\ChaosOrc\SeaTurtle\SeaTurtle.blp
Textures\gutz.blp
Textures\WaterWake2.blp
Textures\InfernalCannon.blp
ui\Glues\SinglePlayer\OrcCampaign3D\CampaignOrcSash.blp

Only one you import the highlighted ones are he ones you should worry about.

1. units\ChaosOrc\SeaTurtle\SeaTurtle.blp
2. Textures\gutz.blp
3. Textures\WaterWake2.blp
4. Textures\InfernalCannon.blp
5. ui\Glues\SinglePlayer\OrcCampaign3D\CampaignOrcSash.blp

In that only the units\chaosorc\seaturtle\seaturle.blp texture should be imported into your map. Along with the .mdx file of course.

Import both files right?

the path of the .blp file now is war3mapimported\SeaTurtle.blp
change this path to units\ChaosOrc\SeaTurtle\SeaTurtle.blp

Save your map and close the WorldEditor
Open the world editor and your map, everythink shoould work now


(btw did you read the readme file in the zip archive?)

for models like that. where can u get the "optional" textures?

Those textures are created by the modelmaker. If you don't need to edit them, it's because the given texture is already hardcoded into the game and you don't need to import it.

Btw
I think hardcoded is the wrong word because you can still replace the wc3.blps by importing another blp and set its path to the wc3.blp path
or am I wrong?
Otherwise all people who say no you cannot change this setting its hardcoded are wrong.
