Little poem that I suddenly got the inspiration for. anyone know what its about?

Life

I watched my life slip through the sands of time,
Wondering what was happening to me.

I saw my life sink below the ocean’s waves,
Wondering why didn’t God come rescue me.

I cried as my life crumbled against time’s tide.
Wondering why time wouldn’t let me be.

Then right before my lungs were done,
My heart was spent,
My mind gone,
I asked myself,

Why was I watching?

Had a real nice flow to it. Sounded very nice, although the meaning was lost on me. As usual...

Sounds nice.
To me it seemed about death. How the narrator felt had done nothing, and how it all happened fast, his/her life.

it was actually about how people go through their life wishing for other things and not really living, just faking their life and when they were on their deathbed they realized the should have lived their life to their full potential.
