Making an Installer

Having no idea which installer to use or how to program one, I have come here to ask the experienced to help me. On a side note, I had no idea where to put this.

My friends are having trouble extracting files and doing steps for iCCup. This is what I need my installer to do:

1. Install to a designated folder.
2. Run a program without showing it.

Install to a designated folder.

You might be able to do this in C++ if you learn some basic stuff.

Otherwise using a language like Visual Basic (which requires the .NET Framework to run), or you use a free installer like Inno (I think that's what it's called)(I think it's free).

Well, is this a program you wrote? if so you could just code it so the first time it opens it doesn't show itself.

Otherwise if you code the installer you should be able to run it without showing it, or maybe Inno or other free installers allow you to do this.

You could make a 7z self extracting archive. This wont update your registry, buy it will install to a designated folder.

You can make a "installer" program with AutoIt ( http://autoitscript.com ) in about 10 lines of coding if you really need to use it.
