Map won't work.

Hey guys. For some reason my map won't work atm. I've noticed that worknig maps end with a .w3m, and mine ends with a .w3x
I think it has something to do with the starting locations... like where I have them set the buildings in the middle of them don't show up. But i've seen many other peoples maps where they have their starting locations set just the same. Am I doing something wrong?? Thanks.

What does 'not work' mean? Does it open, does nothing happen when you're in the game? Does it crash when you try to test?

w3x is a map file format for frozen throne


while

w3m is a file format for reign of chaos.

well i don't have the frozen throne.
so why is it doing this? and how do i fix it?
and to first reply it just isn't there, when i open the actual game.

As he said, .w3m is the format used by RoC maps, and .w3x is used by Frozen Throne.
I heard something about buildings in there....if you don't want the buildings on start locations, delete the trigger that comes with the map.
Anything more specific?

no it is my map, completely from scratch.
i was making it and everything was fine.
then when i re-opened it sometime today it had a .w3x at the end of it.
and i noticed that it would no longer open in the game.


EDIT: ^^I deleted the trigger. But I still have the .w3x problem...

Maps that end in .w3x will not open in RoC. You must have added a FT-only element.

EDIT: no I do not own tft. never have.

It should tell you somewhere why you cannot open it in RoC. I have to run off, but it's somewhere in Options I think where it will tell you all the reasons it's ...oh wait...that's for why it's not a Melee map.
I'm pretty sure it's somewhere though.

ok, now i can't load the map. it just says Unable to load. but i can load the same map, about 2 hours of work before i last saved it. i opened that one, deleted the map initialization trigger like techgeek said, then saved it and it turned into a .w3x again. what does that mean?
