Model Question

I edited a model and got rid of some ugly sparkles. Its stand animation was annoying as well so I set the interval towards the end of the animation. Could a really small interval cause lag? I know that if you set the beginning and end intervals to the same number and save your map with the imported model, it will crash on start up.

I'm not very educated in modeling. The question arose when I noticed basic warcraft 3 models with stand animations and no movement but massive intervals of around 3k.
