How does it work and what does it do

Its an interesting ability that has many uses.

You can do something like this:

Make an ability based off of Death Coil, and add it to the Orb of Lightning spell (Where it usually says Purge). Set the % chances you want, and whala. You have an ability that gives a % chance to cast Death Coil. It works on alot of spells, Chain Lightning, Frost Nova, Holy Light/Death Coil, Chain Lightning, ect.......

yep, germanate attack is orb of lightning with searing arrows put into it

It can use any ability that is target unit or point. If it is target self or passive te orb will crash your game... i learned that the hard way

It also dosent proc unless the unit's order is equal to "attack" when attacking... which is quite bothersome

could u add a trigger that when a unit attacks, order unit to stop and then order unit to attack? would that make it proc even when its automated?

i have it like that, that way it only needs to repeat the backswing animation once.

Oh i see now... the creator of dota sure did exploit this spell

He also uses it for maim, using cripple with orb of lighting

Quick question, will Holy Light attached to Orb of Lightning trigger when i attack friendly units ?

If you make it to target allies, I think, yes

I've tried using Orb of Lightning as item abilities and as unit abilities and as hero abilities. I never had any problems at all using it as an item ability (after all, that was its inteded use) but when i use it as a hero ability or a unit ability the tooltips get all jacked up. It doesn't even stay the same. I mouse over the abilityand its like a bunch of weird characters, i mouse out of it then mouse over it again and its a bunch of weird characters but different weird characters.

Has anyone else had that problem, or know what the problem is, or how to fix it?
