I dont know if this is the easiest way to do this,
but im 100% it works.

Trigger:
  • Patrol 1
    • Events
      • Map initialization
    • Conditions
    • Actions
      • Unit - Move Peasant 0000 <gen> instantly to (Center of Spot 1 <gen>)

Trigger:
  • Patrol 2
    • Events
      • Unit - A unit enters Spot 1 <gen>
    • Conditions
    • (Entering unit) Equal to Peasant 0000 <gen>
    • Actions
      • Unit - Move Peasant 0000 <gen> instantly to (Center of Spot 2 <gen>)

Trigger:
  • Patrol 3
    • Events
      • Unit - A unit enters Spot 2 <gen>
    • Conditions
    • (Entering unit) Equal to Peasant 0000 <gen>
    • Actions
      • Unit - Move Peasant 0000 <gen> instantly to (Center of spot 3 <gen>)

Trigger:
  • Patrol 4
    • Events
      • Unit - A unit enters spot 3 <gen>
    • Conditions
    • (Entering unit) Equal to Peasant 0000 <gen>
    • Actions
      • Unit - Move Peasant 0000 <gen> instantly to (Center of Spot 1 <gen>)

There isn't really an easy way to make them walk around and make it look natural.

I'd suggest something simuliar to previous post, but have more regions and make a unit move to random region each time so not all of them are running circles.

Just make a region for each destination, then for each unit, use a random number to pick a region and order it to walk there.

There is an ability, called "wander". this will make a unit automatically move, even if it isn't give an order. the unit does need a decent speed (250+) to mke the walking believable.

you can set the area of effect. "Duration" is the time the unit will walk in 1 direction. after that duration it moves to another location.
if the area of effect is too small and the duration is too low, then the unit will walk chaotically in tiny circles; not very realistic! make duration and aeo big enough.

Kuberr24 got it right.

Use the wander ability. It's the same ability used by random animals (deer etc) in typical WC3 games.
