I guess many people have problems with this...
So, I reinstalled windows xp on the laptop, of course I have no goddamn sound, which is baaaad.

Everest>Multimedia>PCI / PnP audio says I have a Intel 82801GBM ICH7-M - High Definition Audio Controller [A-1] sound card(?).

Of course I tried google, on a forum I found a dude who told someone it's actually something else, and posted a link to a driver, which I tried to run, but it said it didn't detect any relevant hardware...
What should I do?

Thank you in advance

You are missing the sound drivers. XP doesn't install them for you.

Make and model of the laptop por favor.

EDIT: found a driver, installed successfully, I have sound now... from the laptop... but if I plug in my speakers, it dies (yesssss I have them turned on and under electricity)
They just give a very quiet hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm sound

wat do?

EDIT2: I now have sounds on speakers too, thanks

EDIT3: I don't always have sound on speakers... just now they died again...

1. do your speakers work?
2. are they the default output device? (right click on the sound icon and set it to the speakers)

Yeah they do work, now at least.

I think the problem was with the green plug thing, if I pushed it "too deep", the sound died... at ~90% its fine, thanks.
