Screen blacks out

When I turn on my laptop the screen comes up then it blacks out. How do I fix it? I have already tried these.
1. Restarted my laptop
2. Waited all night with the laptop off
3. Unplugged the ac adapter and ran the laptop on it's own power supply so it is not a battery problem
4. Tried to raise brightness

Any solutions? I'm on an iPhone ATM

no this is the first time

As in, you dropped it once?

oh.. no ive dropped it around 8 times with 6 being on carpet and 2 being on hard floor

When you flip the lid open on your laptop, there is a little micro switch that opens a contact turning on the screen. Depending on your laptop, that switch might be built into the hinge, or it might be around the hinge and appear to be a little "nub" that sticks up. Try toggling the "nub" (if equipped) by hand and see if your screen flicks on.

i have the blacklight problem, but im probably going to get an new laptop anyway.
