"Sounds" like a problem

sorry for the lame title, but I have a problem with my trigger.

First off, what I want my guy to do whenever he attacks is use a sound, trigger one looks like:

Event: A unit is attacked
Action: Play heavymetalchop1 attached to unit

That doesnt work at all, so I tried another thing which didn't work any better..

Event
A unit begins casting an ability
Condition
Ability being cast equal to Death
Action
Set DeathSoundVariable Equal to heavymetalchop1
Play DeathSoundVariable at location of (Casting Unit) Z offset of 0 at 100%
volume.

I understood why the first one didn't work, but this one not working is because of?

I have never had this problem with sounds before, so help would be appreciated.

Is the sound imported in sound manager.
Don't know if this is why but this is the reason my gold sound wouldn't play.

yeah.

its pretty wierd why this won't play, its set as a 3D sound and everything is checked, no idea why it won't lol


scratch that..may have answered it.

Check the properties of the sound in the sound editor and make sure 3D sound is ticked. Im not sure but its one of them boxes... i've had this problem before and fixed it by playing around with the boxes.

On the other hand... why dont you just change the weapon sound of the unit in the object editor?

Yeah, i had to set the position of the sound but i was just using that sound as a example, i'm importing an mp3 file

You can change this now in User CP.

try to import wav file .Most of people get problem because they use mp3 and not wav.
