Why should you? The map contains everything you need.

It's easier for us to test the spell if there are no obstructions.

is this a hero spell or normal, and does it need multiple levels?

the targets don't have attachment points so buff SFX don't work. Also, non-moving, melee units don't cover all the spell possibilities, so I think small map modifications should be allowed.

can the spell be anything?

What do you mean?

There are no restrictions how the spell should be cast.

I mean, it can be an aura, a point target...etc.

This has to a 'normal' spell. Preferably level-able.

Oh, no attachment points...

Change of rules. You can use your own demo map.

The current one now serves as a place where to get the caster model.

coll sounds like fun but one question

does this mean like a empty .txt file renamed dummy.mdl?

and has to be original? jkjk

can it include an option to have it trigger a cinematic?
and does it have to be MUI?
and should it be multipalyer friendly?

Why the heck would you want to do that?

> and has to be original? jkjk
Ha. Ha. -_-

> can it include an option to have it trigger a cinematic?
It's a spell. So no, not really. Unless you want to lose a huge amount of points.

> and does it have to be MUI?
Doesn't have to be. Though you get extra points for it.

> and should it be multipalyer friendly?
What exactly do you mean? You don't have to make your spell MUI or MPI.

@romek then whats the caster model?
A model you can use for your dummy units. The advantage with the caster model is that it has attachment points, whereas the Zone Indicator or no model at all don't have attachment points. This means that you can use one dummy for everything, if you need a missile you simple attach an effect to the dummy.

Then use something else.

Edit: Don't really know what to make, the theme allows nearly any kind of spell actually.

>>Attaching systems are allowed
Is other system allowed?
Such as.. er, I create a small system especially for this spell.
If I include the code to the spell code, it will look hugely messy, so I divided it to a small system and my spell uses that system, can?
And also other small snippet posted on the forum, can I use it?

Another side question.
How am I gonna make full use of the what what caster model?
I never used it before, nor don't know the usage of it.

Use the caster model when you want to use flying missiles or dummy units that you can attach special effects to. If you wanted to make a flying arrow you would trigger the movement of a unit with the dummy model and attach the arrow as a special effect. If you just wanted a special effect that can be moved, create the unit and attach the effect to it. The "origin" path certainly works, and I think two others work also (not that you need them unless you are using the animations to rotate it or something).

No, they are not. (e.g xe, caster system)

Yes, you can, if that "system" is made specifically for this contest, by you.

The caster model is optional. If your spell doesn't need it, don't use it.

For those who know to use it and the spell needs it, please, go ahead.

We really want to see very unique and imaginative spells this time.

That's why the theme is so loose and the caster model is allowed.

Have fun!

What if the system is made quite something ago, and it is summitted to the forum before?
Such as Real XY?

It's not allowed.

Plus the "system" you posted it just a bunch of BJ functions.

Beware... unnecessary function calls take points away...
