What is it? a unit without a model file? please just explain this simple thing because that might increase my understanding of all these posts...

A unit that is supposed to be invisible.
It's purpose is, for example, to cast a spell on another unit.
While it casts the spell, it shouldn't be seen, selectable or targeted - in a way that may interupt the gameplay.
After it's done casting (or whatever it's doing), it is usually removed from the game.

 

[Siretu]

A dummy unit is an invisible unit used to cast spells through triggers. They got no collision, are invisible and are often invulnerable.
