Terrain Contest I - Summer

There isn't actually many terrains which cohere to the theme properly.

How so? Most of these seem to take place during summer. (trees in full bloom, clear skys, beaches, ect)

12 is a bit abusif about imports.
13 is nice, use imports too but as a more stable way.

I removed the big shells, I agree that those were a bit too much. I have also tried to make it seem more like a beach on the seaside and less as a desert. I still have to add some more environment elements then the human element.

@WIP #14: Seems to have too many trees to the right (Besides the big one) .
Put them more in the background and make the hills farther back too IMO.

@WIP #15: The dirt path...'cuts' into the fence.
And that random tree looks like it's right in the middle of the path.

@WIP #16: A little too many shells still IMO.
And it feels like there needs to be another tree closer to the screen (In between the closest tree and the shells, on the right) .

Much better, the previous one didn't really show summer, but with the angle change it works.

IMO WIP 16 looks very nice, yet theres something about the sky thats just not right. it just doesnt look like it should be. it looks fake-ish compared to the rest of it. still very nice tho

The "Hotel WIP": The hotel it self looks too realistic comprared with the woods at the left. The woods are too... wc3ish and the hotel is not at all!

......People keep saying numbers, I can't remember which WIP is WIP:
Ok, the hotel one looks weird, it looks like the back forest is a graveyard.
Also, the swimming pool looks empty, make the water in it denser or more prominent.

The beach one:
The sun doesn't really blend in the with the sky.

The 14 (With World Tree somwhere in it), the waterfall looks really strange, the color is different from the water plane??!? Looks more autumnish, maybe throw in a few birds

#14 - it looks more like a desert at any season tbh. The environment is pretty average, the sky/SFX fog is alright though. Fitting sun.

#15 - this doesn't deserve to be called terrain. You've used a bunch of imported models, PURELY imported models, with no real "special" use of them. In a playable map, that's alright, but in a terrain, you do need to use them a bit better. Basically, make your OWN terrain instead of showing off some model maker's work, even if it's you who made them. The environment is horrible TBH.

#16 - lacks a proper fog, a more matching sky and it needs better trees. The water looks terrible, the shell spam too.

I love the skies! I'v not begun to learn how to do skies (never needed to) so I really appreciate them! I should not even bother as I am not even a novice mapper (IMHO) but maybe I will try this out, just for laughs.

Not much to say, other than, how the hell do you make water like in the beach WIP? (Btw, I love the beach one! Especially the sky and the palms, though the mass shells looks weird...)
