Yes, I write. Very little, but I do. Here is chapter one. Yes, it's meant to leave you with a "lolwtf?" feeling. Don't complain about it, it's just the first chapter. And possibly several others. I don't know, I write what I feel at the time. Copywright kc102

Chapter 1
Samson arose, his ears straining for a single sound in the darkness. He had been sleeping peacefully when a noise had awoken him. Creeping out of his bed and peering into the main room of the small house, Samson spotted a large and slightly hunched figure standing in the kitchen. It raised its head; the creature looked very wolf like. Sniffing around, the wolf-human was able to find some meat left over from dinner and ate it quickly. It turned and spotted Samson.

Samson’s blood went cold and sweat streamed down his body. The creature had seen him. It grinned, or whatever a creature like this could manage, and began stalking towards him. He backed into his room, praying to God to save him. To his great surprise, a man smashed through the side of the house. The new intruder yelled something incoherent and threw some dust around the werewolf. It howled as it realized it was stuck. By this time Samson’s parents had rushed out of their room, wearing nothing decent, and staring at the scene before them with shock.

The man who smashed through their wall took out a torch, lit it, and set the house aflame before dashing off into the night. Before he was out of ear shot he yelled, “You can thank me later for killing the werewolf!” Samson stood dumbfounded at what just unfolded. The house was quickly catching fire and he rushed out with his parents. It was several hours before the house stopped burning and as they gazed at the rubble of their destroyed home, everything was destroyed; the werewolf too.

As Samson and his parents sat around feeling very sad about the state of their farmhouse, the house finished burning and slowly cooled off. They began searching the wreckage for anything salvageable but sadly, nothing was, it seemed. As they were beginning to give up hope Samson stumbled upon an old book. It had been in their family for ages which caused it to never be sold. No one sells family heirlooms. No one could read either, so it had become a platform for various spices near to the cooking fire. They were all amazed at how it had withstood the fire.

Since Samson’s chance at life on the farm was destroyed by the random act of destruction, he tells his parents that he’s going to go to the city, Olympus, and seek his fortune there. This is not a mountain Olympus or anything like it; the city architect was simply arrogant and overestimated the ability of this city-state. Samson packed some food, a few coins, and the book that survived the fire into a small pack and set off, leaving his parents behind.

This isn't copyrighted. You reserved some rights, which means someone can still take your work if they give you credit and do some other mumble-jumbo that can be almost obscured.

Good luck.

Oh, and I hate WIPs. Nothing against you... when you finish, let me know.

WIP as in you haven't completed the story yet. :p

Write a novel in scenes not chapters. I still disapprove of publishing chapters at a time. You never know when you'd want to change something.
