Yes, unless you make a dummy unit at the invisible unit's spot which belongs to you, hence you're ''sharing the vision'' but the unit is still invisible ^^

Faerie Fire reveals invisible enemies if its casted to an enemy while its visible. It also creates an area of vision around it.
