Unseen Model

I made this new model in the Object Editor. I just took the Rock Chunk model, and changed its Model Art to a Magical Lantern (a doodad - prop from the Dalaran tileset). I can place it in the Editor all right, and select it for triggers and all, but when I play the game itself, the doodad doesn't appear at all. Any one know why this happens and how to solve it?

My guess would be that "base" doodads don't work.
You need to use one of the "variations" (Assuming there is one for your lantern).

Or try to set the number of variations to 0.

What do you mean base doodad? When I select the model in the Object Editor you can see it by the side in the grey box (if that is what you mean). And what is a variation? Please explain.

Well, as an example, select a tree in the doodad palette.
Have a look at the model preview.
See the number of variations there?
That would be it.

Means it's the same model but with small subtle differences...


Did you try to set the number of variations to 0?

Oh that. Yeah I know what that is. But I don't think this model: Magical Lantern, has any variations at all. So that's not the problem I think. But I'll see.

Then you definitely have to set the number of variations to 0 (Art - Model - Variations).

If the editor resists, be more convincing, press and hold shift, then double-click the value of interest.
