Upgrading Units?

Um... is there a way to upgrade units into other ones in World Editor?

I've tried various ways, first was to make it as though the unit is actually building the other, but in the end, it says 'building competed' and doesn't look good anyways.

I also tried the morph but it just basically turned out weird... not as in the unit doesn't change but since I want it to cost gold and lumber, not mana... and there was none of those options...

I have also tried to create a custom building (Tree of Life) and then converted it into a normal unit but then the upgrade option got deleted...

So... um... is there any way to upgrade an unit?

Um... how does that work?

And sorry for posting in the wrong forum. I didn't see that this was a sub forum until after I posted the post. XD

Yes.No problem to that

This trigger replaces your unit with another one, which you add, and seems like the unit evoluting :)

Ah... ok... I see... I'll go try that.

EDIT: Oh and I also tried leaving the unit as a building, but it couldn't walk although it did upgrade...

EDIT 2: Oh n... um... how to do the trigger thing? XD For example, I have unit A n unit B, n I want to make unit A evolve into unit B? Sorry for so much questions but this is teh first time I'm making a map so... yeah...

Im sure a mod will move this topic soon (ish).

There are a couple of options......

Firstly you could search the forums, its a common question and there are many answers out there.

Secondly, basically you create a trigger that fires when the unit you wish to change fulfills the requirements.

Remembering the basics of trigger making;

Event:
Condition:
Action:

For a common evolvement that changes a unit when it reaches lvl 10

Event: A hero gains a level (or somet)
Condition: Level of unit = 10
Action: Change Unit to (new unit)

etc etc..... follow?

The usual Town Hall -> Keep -> Castle works on units too.

Set its "stats - is a building" to true,
put the new unit in "techtree - upgrades to",
set the unit back to "is a building: false".

The upgrade option will "disappear", but, when you play your map,
your unit will still be a unit, not a building, but the upgrade button will show and work.
