I'm looking at buying a NVIDIA GeForce 8800GT here (a shop close to where I live), and was wondering if it would fully work with my comp:

Dimension 9200
32-bit Vista OS
2.13 gigahertz Intel Core 2 Duo
3070 Megabytes Installed Memory (1gb standard)
NVIDIA GeForce 7900 GS

I basically want to upgrade the current card for gaming-purposes.

Also, it seems like you'll do fine with an 8800 card butI would make sure your PSU has one of those 6 pin plugins for the video card.

How would I check that?

Unfortunately, the information isn't available in your shop. Pick a PSU you're interested in and either visit its manufacturer's site or some other online shop, like NewEgg.

In the technical specifications, you'll find something like:
Code:
PCI-E Connectors 2 x 6Pin
That's what you're interested in.
