What is "Sphere" doing?

I see this in editor in the ability section and "Blood Mage's" ability but what's "Sphere"?

you cant give the sphere ability to anyother unit than bloodmage because ti only work on him.Could sphere be the little thing that circle around him?

Well i just tested using blood mage without the ability Sphere and yes it seems the Sphere are the littel flaming balls that fly around him.

It must do something els. as if you would just have such a usless thing when you can just attach the art to the modle.
It must be a campain thing :S

Sphere just makes the little balls fly round. It's not used in the campaign at all or in relation to any abilities/triggers. The ability won't even work for other units.

ya, i tried putting it on other units, dosent work.

It does work on other units too.
But you have to change the attachment points.
"Sprite, first", and friends, don't seem to exist on that many units.
However, for example, "hand, left" does the job.

It doesnt do anything, It is simply there to look good.

I just attached the sphere to the right hand and to the chest of a shadow. the spheres are not flying around that unit, they're melted on its chest and on its hand...

Yeh technically same with the Bloodmage. But the part of the model it's welded onto rotates.

The spheres probably not.
But, some models do, like the one from Orbs.
Well, they do when on some orb item.
Should mean though they also do as is on some unit.

actually if you use flame strike you see one of the spheres shoot to the area.

Yes but that is the "Missile art" of the blood mage, not the ability, i think.

The Spheres do something. If you pay attention to his attacks, you see that if he attacks, one of the spheres around him disappear. And the funny thing is that his missile art is exactly the same as the spheres. So actually he launches those spheres around him...

I believe that there is another unit with a very similiar ability. The Avatar of Vengence has spheres that rotate around it, which are moved when an ability is cast.

Well... not really.
But, just for fun, try with some other model...

There's a really big chance to actually start shooting sphere missiles.

The best thing about it would be, though, that it doesn't have an icon.
