What would be better?

Just wanted to ask a tiny little question..
Hmm let's just say I want to make a spell that when cast, all enemy unit within XXX AoE will be damaged..
Which would be better to use? pick every unit in area then damage individually or damage circular area? and why?

Pick every unit obviously. Like you said - enemies. Circular damage does not allow you to filter out ally.

I'd say the only proper use of Damage Circular Area is land mines. They don't discriminate.
