Windows 8: First Look

I don't like these sorts of user interfaces on proper computers. On tablets or touch devices they are fine, but on a proper computer it would feel like Windows was on training wheels.

I like Windows 7. Not so much this. Will stick to 7 I think.

I think you're missing his point, that "they are trying make this the default UI".

Watch from 3:01 DDR and tom mai. They are trying to make this the default UI. The "old" Windows 7 UI would be mainly used for browsing the filesystem and launching old apps such as Microsoft Office.

I highly doubt that this is what's going to happen. This is a showcase, in which they're showing off a new UI that they're proud of. They've already introduced a new ribbon interface in the Explorer menus (I know some of you will hate that, but it could be optional), and it doesn't look to be made for someone using a keyboard.
