Introduction
Shadowraze Training is a minigame map that focuses on a specific Hero from the DotA Allstars map - the Shadow Fiend. It has a lot of similarities to other so called "SF Wars" maps and its aim is to replicate the hero as much as possible while providing an entertaining environment with lots of action.
But don't just skip it with the thought "just another sf wars map"! It has been carefully scripted and tested and it provides a good gameplay with space for improvement (if needed). The map is open-source, mainly written in zinc (vJass), with some comments at some places so it can also be used as a project to learn upon, even though my coding style is not the best.
Gameplay
You start the game with your Hero (Shadow Fiend) and after that your point is to kill the other enemy Heroes with 4 of your spells. 3 of your abilities are the same - they deal AoE damage in front of you but each of them has different distance. Your ultimate deals heavy damage in an area around you.
for more information on the spells (look up Shadowraze and Requiem of Souls): http://www.playdota.com/heroes/shadow-fiend
You can also find items in the shops scattered at the sides of the map - they can be both offensive and defensive.
Examples:
Dazzle's Grave
Prevents the targeted unit from being killed for the next 3 seconds. Instead of dying, the affected unit will be left with 1 hit points at minimum.
Force Staff
Pushes the targeted unit 600 range in the direction it is facing.
etc.
Conclusion
Well, that's most of it! The map, of course, has some little extras like a multiboard and a message display upon kills and stuff like that but since the goal of this map is very simple - just to practice this Hero - I did not want to add very complicated features. But! This does not mean that I will not develop this map!
I am open for your suggestions and I will most likely continue adding features like game modes or maybe more items... or making use of unused things in the map.
Comments and suggestions are welcome!
