i been throughly in a month now finding solutuions on how to fix my wc3 model editor....

it starts like this
1. download zip file of wc3 model editor
2. extract it on my folder(not warcraft)
3. open it and an error says : a missing .DLL is not found d3d9.DLL
4. well i have downloaded one and placing the dll inside the folder of wc3 model editor
5. after, i restart my computer and try to test it again. then an error saying again: a link export from d3d9.dll is not found DDRAW.DLL ....second error saying: a file from C:\Desktop\my file\wc3 model editor is not functioning
6. then ive got DDRAW.DLL at the system and copying it and placing it again at the folder of the model editor.
7. try to restart the computer
8. try again...and....f***:banghead: the error is still there

then thats the last of it
my wc3 TFT and ROC are not installed at my computer, i just copied it from my friend....maybe thats the problem

On your keyboard, open WE and press "Print Screen" on your keyboard, the abreviation is probably "Prt Scr"... Go to your WarIII directary and open the Screenshots folder, it should be created... Make sure after you take your screenshot, it says "Screen Captured.." Open the file up with Ifranview or something like that and save it as JPEG or JPG or whatever you want to reduce the file size... Then save it and then you can attach it as a thumbnail to this site... :D

for the love of god use Google, yahoo, ask jeeves, something. I swear i know its a Microsoft program but i don't keep tabs on where to download stuff. I literally typed in direct "x download" on Google and it was right there on about 2.9million pages!!

Gl with the modeling though. Ive never used that program so im no help.

It suspect it is because your RoC/TFT aren't installed.
ahh....so thats the system requirements.......
is there another way to open the model editor even if i didnt installed ROC and TFT?
do you have DirectX installed?
i installed it from now, but still didnt work

what does DEXPORT does?
i downloaded one but it is not a program, and it chooses another program to open it

how can i open mdx files from GMAX, or any warcraft models that can be opened at GMAX?

I think it was something with your drivers..... D3D9 affects your drivers....

Try searching for Direct X9............ or maybe updating your video card drivers

mdx cant be directly imported. Now dexport is a export script for gmax. There is a tutorial on this sight right in the margin. It says Warcraft 3 Tutorials - modeling. That should give u info on dexport and gmax. Getting it into gmax, theres a process but i don't remember what it is sry. You might be able to use the same script but you may need a different one.

You wont be able to import directly as i said. What you will need is the converter (check the tutorial) that goes from .mdx to .mdl or .mdl to .mdx (it also does .blp and .tga i think). Then as a .mdl you can find a way to get it into gmax.

Try doing this Right Click My Computer -->> Properties... A menu will pop up... Click Hardware -->> Device Manager... Another Menu will pop up.. Now click on Display adapter and see if it has exclamation marks sign....

Another is by Looking at DXDIAG...
Click Start -->> Run... Enter DXDIAG..... A menu will pop up... Click to Direct X files and see if it has problems... If not.. click to Display and see if all DirectX features are enabled....
