BTW:
We are also looking for a decently-skilled JASSer.
You do not need to be a total JASS-Crack ... it's enough if you are a fast learner and can use (and adapt) the systems that are already implemented to the map (like the quest system, AI System, etc.).

What you need to know to fit the requirements:
- Basics of Attaching via Hashtables
- how to use PUI Structs and PUI properties (Textmacros)
- what leaks are and how to prevent them
- Basic understanding of structs and methods
- the basics of writing efficient code

Well, if you need spell coding or something, give me a PM.
Tell me what you need, and what systems you use.
You will then be getting a Demo-Map + Spell Code from me.

We don't need part-timers or module programmers, we need someone who wants to be directly involved into the creation process.

I got no title :(

First, congratulations with the map, theres a bug near the Bandits Hideout (I think that's the name >.>), if you try to go to anywhere on the rest of the map, like the sea, the bottom or whatever, your character will simply walk over the dungeon entrace and you turn into superman and walk over water >.> :p, but besides that, the map is great, evryone that comes when I'm hosting your game say that it rocks, that it is the best terrain they have ever seen and stuff like that (even my friend that hates rpg likes yours [OMG ITS A MIRACLE]) and also I wanted to ask you, where did you guys find the program to make your map so huge >.<, I was planning make a RPG too, but it would require this make-your-wc3-map-omg_huge program >.<.
Well, thanks for the attention, great map, and good luck with it.

1. If you are using RoC editor, TFT editor allows bigger maps
2. Newgen possibly

I LOVE your map I cannot wait til the next update alot of people i've played it with have also enjoyed it. The only thing ive found wrong with it so far is lack of help in the quest menus. I hate having to explain everything to everyone I play with when I wish I could simply say "Look at the quest menu and read":)
Anyways goodluck and keep working hard:D

Smack! Down!

Any estimated time on when the next version will be released? Like pretty much every else here, I'm stoked for it!
We finished the new content today. And I can tell you the waiting time was so worth it ...
However, we still have to make some testing games to set up the proper mob balance.
I hope we can dish out the new version on saturday.

SWEET !! That is fantastic news! Let me know if you need any help testing the game I am on East and my name is Applejacked :D

Edit: Have you fixed the aggro system a bit so the Squire can actually hold aggro like the tank is meant to? Because as a Cleric I always heal and I end up pulling some aggro and I always end up tanking the bosses.. But my bubble somehow lets me tank very well and I think it needs to be a bit more balanced. But my primary concern is how Squires can barely hold the aggro and then the mages or priests always end up dying or pulling it off the squire.

I don't want to go ahead and make any judgement calls or assumptions, but out of curiosity, are you shielding the tank with the bubble AFTER he pulls? If so, theres your number one problem! The bubble is the biggest aggro pull currently in the game (Next to taunt, obviously). Also, it says in the description of the bubble, "Creates Reduced Aggro". Which means that when the squire has the bubble (Much like shielding a tank in with that priest spell in WoW. Forget it's name, it's been a while) his aggro generation is reduced, because he is NOT having damage caused to HIM, which is a good chunk of the way a squire generates threat!

Also, magic missile is a ridiculously huge aggro generating, so mages just have to be careful!

Hope this helps!

Yeah I usually put bubble on tank before he goes in but I guess I shouldnt anymore simply cause it reduces his aggro but even when he doesnt have it on if I bubble myself or someone around me or heal it still pulls alot :S

Hrm... threat

but even when he doesnt have it on if I bubble myself or someone around me or heal it still pulls alot

I had to make an account and post after seeing this. As a tank in nearly all the games I play, I have to say threat as a Squire can be challenging when tanking larger groups because the Squire only really has 3 attacks: Melee and 2 abilities that do damage. His shout doesn't generate nearly enough threat to beat a single big heal or bubble, and because of the cooldowns on his abilities, holding aggro on big packs is rough. I can pull it off on pulls of up to 3 enemy units in the same fight, but if an accidental pull happens and we get as many as 5 or 6, forget about it. Cleric is getting hit.

I would suggest putting more threat on the Squire's shout, and possibly increase it's cooldown slightly to balance it. It shouldn't be a one button solution to group tanking (That would be boring) but it should at least out-aggro a single heal.

Part of the problem is also the Squire's Shield Mastery. A 10% chance doesn't really make it very reliable avoidance (I would kick any tank from my group with a 10% chance to do ANYTHING in WoW), so the Squire takes hits quite a bit, making the Cleric need to heal *a lot*. The problem is simply that too many heals are happening per AoE threat burst.

With the current content, you could just say "Lol, pull less mobs, noob" and keep your fights limited to 3 enemy units, but that's going to restrict you from being able to make bigger, more epic fights with more units and have the Squire successfully tank it all.

*EDIT*
Another way you could make the Squire threat system more efficient is by removing the cooldown on the Squire's bleed ability. This would force the player to manage his bleeds by cycling through targets and keeping the debuff up in order to do damage and maintain threat. And since the bleed refreshes instead of stacking when it's re-applied, the lack of a cooldown would be harmless in regards to single target DPS exploitation. The bleed doesn't do a tremendous amount of damage, so it won't be too much threat by itself. But it would be a helpful supplement when switching targets and performing an ability rotation to keep group threat.

Another way of increasing Squire threat would be by giving him a low damage, high threat damage shield that does damage to anything that attacks him (But I typically avoid this method because any idiot can make a unit hit them. It's a little bit easy mode).
