In a universe as vast as it is mysterious, a small but powerful force has existed for centuries. Protectors of peace and justice, they are called the Green Lantern Corps. A brotherhood of warriors sworn to keep intergalactic order, each Green Lantern wears a ring that grants him superpowers. But when a new enemy called Parallax threatens to destroy the balance of power in the Universe, their fate and the fate of Earth lie in the hands of their newest recruit, the first human ever selected: Hal Jordan. Hal is a gifted and cocky test pilot, but the Green Lanterns have little respect for humans, who have never harnessed the infinite powers of the ring before. But Hal is clearly the missing piece to the puzzle, and along with his determination and willpower, he has one thing no member of the Corps has ever had: humanity. With the encouragement of fellow pilot and childhood sweetheart Carol Ferris (Blake Lively), if Hal can quickly master his new powers and find the courage to overcome his fears, he may prove to be not only the key to defeating Parallax...he will become the greatest Green Lantern of all.

The wonder-con footage looks so much better than the trailer. Seems quite interesting now, though I still have my doubts about the costume/CGI together.

Peter Sarsgaard = good actor, ha.

watched the newer trailer few days ago and i must say i changed my view on this movie, the first one looked really average but the newer trailer bought hope the the movie.

Watched this the day it came out. I'm a huge Green Lantern fan, it was his role in Blackest Night that got me interested in comic books. With that said I'd like to say this movie wasn't that bad. First off, Ryan Reynolds did the best job he could at playing Hal Jordan, they should have gone with a different actor though. Hal Jordan is a very serious character that rarely jokes, and when he does it's not in a goofy way. The constructs were a bit off as well but I think they did a good move with this. Hal Jordan's constructs lean more towards jets, baseball bats, giant fists, flyswatters, etc. Just odd things that are kinda 'old school.' Anyway! I'll stop nerd raging and just say that this movie truly wasn't bad. It was DC studios first attempt at a live action movie involving one of their more colorful characters.

Nice to see your review. A lot of critics and DC-haters were bashing on Green Lantern, but when I talk to people who actually saw it/other reviews, people said it wasn't bad at all. I don't see Ryan Reynolds playing a serious role either, but, eh, DC went for a more lighthearted, action flick.

I'll be seeing it in a few days hopefully.
