DDoS'ing is hard to find, and also hard to get taken care of.
Technically, it's not illegal to request things via the internet, and thats all the DDoS is doing ( Granted, it's doing it very fast from many computers, and what are they going to do? Press charges on all the PC's sending requests? ). It's almost impossible to find the owner of the botnet.

It's pretty much "Don't piss off someone with a botnet" now a days.

No. It is large imageboard and BBS website with many different boards - some SFW and some not.

1. It doesn't go on half, a quarter or even an eighth as much as people claim it goes on.
2. Mods are instructed to delete such posts as soon as they appear and permanently IP ban the perpetrators.

Whats a botnet?

A botnet is a network of "zombie computers" ( Computers taken over by malicious software ). The owner can then instruct all the zombie pc's on the botnet to do what they want, like taking down websites by requesting things really fast.
