I got bored and wanted to do something new! So, I have created my first web template. Here is the link to it: http://www.geocities.com/templatetesting1/temporarypreviewfile.html?1130205550546 ignore the adds and stuff, but when you do set it up on a site, you need to make the template centered. I'm new to this kinda of stuff so please don't criticise me to much (hint hint, conan!! :p)

So, what do you think?

Heres the html code for it:

HTML:
<html>
<head>
<title>Player 11 -- TemplateTesting1</title>
</head>
<body bgcolor="#000111" link="#0000FF" vlink="#FF0000" text="#000832"
 onLoad="window.onresize=new Function('if (navigator.appVersion==\'Netscape\') history.go(0); else center();'); center();">
<script>
  function center() {
    if (navigator.appVersion.indexOf('MSIE') != -1)
      document.all['root'].style.left = Math.max((document.body.clientWidth - 728) / 2, 0);
    else
      document.PageElement.LAYERS['root'].left = Math.max((window.innerWidth - 728) / 2, 0);
  }
</script>
<div id="root" style="position:absolute;top:0;left:0;width:748px;height:560px">
<script>center();</script>
<div style="position:absolute;left:8;top:8;width:728;height:90;">
<table width=728 height=90 border=0 cellpadding=0 cellspacing=0><tr valign="top">
	<td><img height=90 width=728 src="http://www.geocities.com/templatetesting1/TT_Header.gif" border=0 ></td>
</tr></table></div>
<div style="position:absolute;left:28;top:344;width:88;height:35;">
<table width=88 height=35 border=0 cellpadding=0 cellspacing=0><tr valign="top">
	<td><img height=35 width=88 src="http://www.geocities.com/templatetesting1/omega-sticker.gif" border=0 ></td>
</tr></table></div>
<div style="position:absolute;left:8;top:98;width:728;height:450;">
<table width=728 height=450 border=0 cellpadding=0 cellspacing=0><tr valign="top">
	<td><img height=450 width=728 src="http://www.geocities.com/templatetesting1/TT_Body.gif" border=0 ></td>
</tr></table></div>
<div style="position:absolute;left:28;top:386;width:88;height:35;">
<table width=88 height=35 border=0 cellpadding=0 cellspacing=0><tr valign="top">
	<td><a href="http://world-editor-tutorials.thehelper.net/"><img height=35 width=88 src="http://www.geocities.com/templatetesting1/WET.gif" border=0 ></a></td>
</tr></table></div>
<div style="position:absolute;left:160;top:137;width:554;height:344;">
<table width=554 height=344 border=0 cellpadding=0 cellspacing=0><tr valign="top">
	<td><span style="font-size:14"> &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Welcome to my first web template! Please excuse the fact that the links are not working (affiliates are), they are just there for show. <br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; If you wish to edit this template please go to veiw&gt;&gt;source and copy the html code to your website (after deleting what it says to). If you use this template please leave the credit in place (bottom left corner). To edit the header you will need to open a new image file with dimensions of 728x90 and recreate the header. Here is how to do so (with The Gimp program found at www.gimp.com): First select the gradient Deep Sea and fill the image with that gradient to match the one above as close as posible. Then go to the Script-Fu&gt;&gt;Render&gt;&gt;Line Nova and set the seed to 2 and size to 2 and roughness to 5 and hit ok. Once that is finished go to Script-Fu&gt;&gt;Render&gt;&gt;Lava and set gradient to Deep Sea and hit ok. Then go to Filters&gt;&gt;Free Type and type the title of the web site and before clicking ok set the foreground color to this Hex Code: 000832 and then hit ok. Then go back to Script-Fu&gt;&gt;Render&gt;&gt;Lava and set gradient to Deep Sea and hit ok. Then go to Script-Fu&gt;&gt;Animation&gt;&gt;Blend and hit ok. And save as a GIF file with 100 millisecond intervals. To add affiliates, links to the menu, and text to the body just create text boxes and type away or add pictures with links to them.<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Thank-You,<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Player 11<br></span></td>
</tr></table></div>
<div style="position:absolute;left:28;top:344;width:88;height:35;">
<table width=88 height=35 border=0 cellpadding=0 cellspacing=0><tr valign="top">
	<td><a href="http://www.omega-mods.com/"><img height=35 width=88 src="http://www.geocities.com/templatetesting1/omega-sticker.gif" border=0 ></a></td>
</tr></table></div>
<div style="position:absolute;left:22;top:142;width:100;height:22;">
<table width=100 height=22 border=0 cellpadding=0 cellspacing=0><tr valign="top">
	<td valign="middle" align="center"><span style="font-size:14">Home</span></td>
</tr></table></div>
<div style="position:absolute;left:22;top:169;width:100;height:22;">
<table width=100 height=22 border=0 cellpadding=0 cellspacing=0><tr valign="top">
	<td valign="middle" align="center"><span style="font-size:14">Forums</span></td>
</tr></table></div>
<div style="position:absolute;left:21;top:198;width:100;height:22;">
<table width=100 height=22 border=0 cellpadding=0 cellspacing=0><tr valign="top">
	<td valign="middle" align="center"><span style="font-size:14">Downloads</span></td>
</tr></table></div>
<div style="position:absolute;left:21;top:226;width:101;height:22;">
<table width=101 height=22 border=0 cellpadding=0 cellspacing=0><tr valign="top">
	<td valign="middle" align="center"><span style="font-size:14">Links</span></td>
</tr></table></div>
<div style="position:absolute;left:21;top:255;width:101;height:22;">
<table width=101 height=22 border=0 cellpadding=0 cellspacing=0><tr valign="top">
	<td valign="middle" align="center"><span style="font-size:14">Contact</span></td>
</tr></table></div>
</div>
</body>
</html>

BTW: I did this all with the help of a freeware program called The Gimp.

what do you mean? it doesnt work... the links dont work if thats what you mean... im not going to create a whole site... just the template. When you copy the html you can make as many pages as you want that fit onto the menu space provided unless you do some editing and expand it. The header is what i like the most :p.

::EDIT::
OK OK... im going to fix... sheesh... the background should be black if the template isnt there... its a small one you know like how like some templates are small and dont take up the hole space...

::Edit::
Cool site so far DDR :D

Dreamweaver is a Webdesign program by Macromedia ( the makers of flash ) http://www.macromedia.com/software/dreamweaver/ Very nice tool to have, because you can add flash buttons and stuff like that without have to make them on flash :D

banner is kind of annoying. make it a flash and have it play like 2 or 3 times. but the entire thing looks really good. center it though. IMO, dont make it auto resize to big res.

youre probably going to want to make it into php (rename it to .php) and make like header.php and footer.php, and they make your template. then you make other pages like this

include header.php
(anything you want to go into that main table)
include footer.php

that way if you ever want to change your template, you wont ever have to change every single page. you just change footer or header and it is applied to everything everything.

I would say 8/10 because it looks cool. Only dont use anything related to Yahoo. Yahoo is crap. They have ads on everything and you get so much spyware. Even sending emails attaches an ad if they dont have @yahoo.com :rolleyes:

It might be nooby but use Freewebs. The only ad they attach is the freewebs logo at the bottom, Convert your site to HTML to remove it (But you should keep it, its against the rules to remove and they remove that page if they find out)
Alot better than ruining your site with a huge ad. Stupid Yahoo.

Freewebs attaches banners after you have 200+ page views :p

or instead of getting free webspace, why dont you buy ftp/domain or set up a ftp sever and buy a domain o.0?
