China is more dependent on its exports than other countries are dependent of China, as it should be for every country. The world could quickly adapt but wouldn't have to because it wouldn't happen instantly. It would be a gradual process.

Like all developing countries china's economy is growing fast. And like all developed countries, it will slow down.

I do believe that chinese has more speakers than english. Simply because china is huge, and one culture dominates.

Also China has so much disputed land that depending on what you count the U.S. could be bigger.
