Maria can barely breathe. She weighs less than half of what a 15-month-old should -- just 10 pounds, about the size of a bowling ball. It's not raining in the part of West Timor where she lives, and it hasn't for awhile. Crops won't grow. Nearly everybody in her village is hungry, but it's hardest on the babies. And it's not just the weather. Ignorance led a patriarch to trade nutrient-rich eggs for instant noodles.
