Wow, took me a wile to figure this out.
The mistake is the calculation at the end which is missleading. The one dollar you still have in the end is irrelevant for the ammount of debt you still owe.
Debt: 100 - 2 = 98
Your cash: 100 - 97 - 2 = 1
The trick is that 98 and 97 are so close. If you use different numbers it gets pretty obvious.

I do know this - xenforo dropped the ball by not keeping the vbulletin reputation comments as a feature. The loss of the Reputation comments data when we switched to Xenforo really was the death knell for the site when it came to all the users that left. I know I missed it so much and I got way less interested in the site when that feature was gone and I run the site.
