How do i set a metamorphasis to give new spells?

Hey I'm devolping a map where a few if not all the heroes need a secondary form. But the current spells just wont do for these forms. How do i make these forms different spells? Do i need to make a trigger to swap the characters, and put a timer on it? What do i need to make this possible.

If I am getting what you want, you need a unit with its own spells to metamorph into another unit that will have different spells right?

I don't think you need triggers. Just either use Metamorphosis from Demon Hunter and make two units with different spells.

You can also use the Transformation spell from Druid of the Claw where he shifts into a bear. Same thing, make two units with spells.

If this doesn't work, explain again in more details. possibly state what you want the spells to be :)

Well it works to an extent. The hero arrives but it will not load the other spells. And if i try to learn new spells its the same old spells from before.
EDIT: Some spells will work, but others will not, ill try new spells because they might have been unit spells idk.

But wait, have you made two different units with two different spells?

Let me ask you this:

Do you want to use this trigger once and only once in order to allow some freedom in picking like a subclass for a hero or you want:

Unit A - 4 spells
Unit B - 4 spells
...
Unit A -> Unit B
...
Unit B's spells and level
Unit A's spells and level

This means you want your hero to transform into something else with different leveling spells anytime you activate your transformational spell?

Sorry i haven't explained the map well. Im trying to make it like a secondary Form of the hero. Like the first one is a "mortal" form and the second is his "godly" form. I want the levels to transfer, but all spells are active and trainable. Its like (if u play DBZ Maps or something like them) When u transform u keep ur level, u get a more powerful version of your hero, and The spells are there. EDIT: and yes i have 2 characters made

I wish I had access to my Warcraft Editor right now, this would be lot easier.

Questions:

1) When Hero is transformed into another form, and lets say you gain 2 levels with that form, when you transform back into the first form you will keep the newly gained experience and levels or the old ones?

2) Both units are heroes so both units will have training spells, but will share experience and levels right?

3) You won't use any non-leveling spells on the units?

Ok yes yes and only 1 unit will not have leveling spells. Sorry it took a while messing around with it abit.

I have a hero exactly like what you are trying to create. You have to trigger what you are trying to do. I tried using the Druid of the Claw Bear Form ability, the Metamorphisis ability, and a couple of other transform abilities (don't remember the name), and none of them worked. I think its a problem with the unit being a hero. I'm not sure.

Anyway, I created 2 copies of the same hero, each with separate abilities. Then I used the Trigger Function "Unit - Replace" whenever the hero transforms. I store the original hero in a game cache, and then give the new unit the same hero data (level, xp, etc.). Then when he transforms back into the original form, I simply restore the unit that is stored in the game cache, and update his xp and level.

The solution to this problem is to use unit abilities and not hero abilities. You want to use dummy abilities based on something like item armor abilities to level the skills up with. For instance:

Mana Burn - unit ability
Immolation - unit ability
Evasion - unit ability
Metamorphosis - hero ability
Mana Burn (dummy) - hero ability
Immolation (dummy) - hero ability
Evasion (dummy) - hero ability

Alternate form:
Improved Mana Burn - unit ability
Empowered Immolation - unit ability
Agile Evasion - unit ability
Metamorphosis - hero ability
Mana Burn (dummy) - hero ability
Immolation (dummy) - hero ability
Evasion (dummy) - hero ability

When the hero learns a skill, set the level of the correcsponding abilities and apply an upgrade that will increase the level of the ability so that the level doesn't reset every time he shifts form. For instance:

A unit learns a skill
Learned Hero skill equal to Mana Burn (dummy)
Set level of Mana Burn for Triggering Unit to (Learned skill level)
Set level of Improved Mana Burn for Triggering Unit to (Learned skill level)
Set elvel of Mana Burn Mana Burn for Owner of Triggering unit to (Learned skill level)

well you can always make triggers that will take a long time to make them all if you are dealing with about 10 plus heroes
(example of trigger)
Events
Unit - A unit enters Region (blank)
Conditions
Actions
Unit - Kill (Triggering unit)
Unit - Create 1 (blank) for Player (blank) at (blank) facing (blank) degrees

something like that would work and have a trigger that does the same for your new unit to go back to your old one
please note: i did this off the top of my head
