Hi all, some spells require the caster to stand still and not do anything when casting the spell, eg. Tranquility, Rain of Fire, Cloud etc. In these spells, once I move the caster, the spell automatically stops. Is there any way I can modify them so that that the spell once cast, will still continue its duration of casting EVEN WHEN the unit moves after casting the spell?

Some "channeled" spells like Flame Strike can be modified to be "instant" but most of them can't.

However it can be done by using triggers and dummy units.
Ie. making a dummy ability and trigger it so that when you try to cast the dummy spell it creates an invisible dummy unit that casts the real spell for the player, thus allowing the players unit to move around etc. while the dummy channels the spell untill it's finished.

waaaks!

how about, let's say you want to have the spell clouds
first create a spell based on clouds and give it to ur dummy unit
and create a dummy spell that has the description and icon of the clouds
then add it to ur caster then make this trigger

Events
____unit starts the effect of an ability
Conditions
____ability being cast equal to Clouds(dummy spell)
Actions
____unit create 1 dummy for owner of casting unit at position of casting unit
____add "6" second generic expiration timer to last created unit
____add clouds(real) to last created unit
____order last created unit to human-clouds

you can change the number inside "" as the duration of the spell to be channeled
